Sandra Carvalho

Sandra Carvalho is an Assistant Professor of Neuropsychology, Director of the Psychology Course and Coordinator of the Translational Neuropsychology Laboratory at the Department of Education and Psychology of the University of Aveiro. Her areas of expertise include non-invasive brain stimulation (such as, transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation), EEG and fMRI. She conducts basic, translational and clinical trials and is mainly interested in studying the neuronal and behavioural correlates of clinical response in a variety of psychiatric and neurologic conditions in several conditions such as neuropathic pain, obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, severe depression, Tourette’s and motor and cognitive rehabilitation resulting from stroke or traumatic brain injury.
