Carla Viana de Sousa is a PhD student in Psychology at the University of Aveiro, having completed her Master’s degree at the same university in Psychological Development Activation. Her thesis, Perception of Parental Attitudes in the Adolescent’s Global Self-Evaluation, highlighted the importance of perceptions formed about parents and other significant figures in the development of the self and global self-evaluation, fostering a more positive, structured, and meaningful growth process for adolescents.
She is a certified psychologist by the Portuguese Psychologists’ Association (OPP) in Educational Psychology, Clinical and Health Psychology, and Community Psychology. Since 2001, she has been working in a school setting, providing support to children and adolescents by designing and implementing various socio-emotional skills development programs.
Her main areas of interest include socioemotional skills, mindfulness, mental health literacy, and peer intervention.
