Catarina Alexandra Almeida Monteiro is a clinical psychologist and Ph.D. student at the University of Aveiro. Her current research focuses on understanding the barriers of help-seeking for adolescent anxiety, aiming to develop innovative strategies that promote access to mental health support for this vulnerable population. Her PhD research project, “TOUCHMinds: An RCT on help-seeking for adolescent anxiety”, is funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, reference number 2024.05050.BD. Catarina’s research interests include investigating the effects of improved help-seeking behaviours on the mental well-being of adolescents and how these changes can positively influence their families and communities.
