Emma De Thouars Da Silva is a PhD student at Ispa-IU, where she previously completed a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology (2023) focused on incarcerated women in Portugal. Between 2024- 2025, she held a research fellowship in the LaCaixa-funded project “Women Behind Bars – Female Portuguese Inmates’ Characterization and Gender-Specific Needs Assessment”. Currently, her PhD research focuses on incarcerated Roma women in Portugal, aimed at providing an in-depth
assessment of their criminogenic and non-criminogenic needs.
