Fábio’ interests lie in experimental psychology, cognitive psychology, and psychophysiology. He is particularly interested in the daily rhythms of working memory and their effect on learning and academic achievement and in the effect of circadian variables (chronotype and time-of-day) on face recognition. Currently, he is a PhD student at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra (Portugal). His project will assess if the components of WM (phonological loop, visual sketchpad, central executive, and episodic buffer) present independent daily rhythms in ecological environments. Additionally, this project will also evaluate if the interactions between the circadian cycle of each WM component and the time-of-day in which a discipline is taught predict academic achievement in distinct typologies of academic disciplines to different extents. Fabio’s project is funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (2021.04646.BD). Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in Clinical and Health Psychology and a bachelor´s degree in Psychology (University of Beira Interior, Portugal). In the past, he worked as a research assistant in the project “Do you recognize me? The impact of chronotype and time-of-day on face recognition” (reference: PTDC/PSI-GER/31082/2017), and as a service provider for the Department of Psychology and Education of the University of Beira Interior.
