Gleysse G.M. de Paula is a Psychologist and Psychoanalyst (Brazil). She holds a postgraduate degree (specialization) in Neuropsychology (Brazil) and in Cognitive Science (Lisbon). She holds a master degree in Health Science and Biomedicine (Brazil). She is a Psychotherapist and Psychoanalyst practitioner, and a clinical supervisor in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychoanalytic Therapy and Neuropsychology. She is a PhD student in Clinical Psychology (ISPA – Lisbon). She is interested in Trauma, Transmission of Trauma Across Generations and Attachment.
Her PhD research aims to understand the mechanisms of traumatic transmission among the Portuguese military personnel diagnosed with Posttraumatic Stress Disorders and their descendants (until the third generation). She is also interested in understanding how secure attachment is related with the attachment relationship between the military personnel and their descendants, as a mediator factor, in regarding to traumatic transmission.
