Inês Matos is a clinical psychologist and holds a PhD in Developmental Psychology. Her main research interests are early preventive interventions, mainly attachment based programs. The focus of her PhD work was to evaluate the long-term effects of a home-visiting early preventive intervention in a high-risk sample. This research was part of the CAPEDP Project, a pioneering French early intervention program, following families from the third trimester of the pregnancy through the child’s 24 months of age. The follow-up PhD work evaluated children’s narratives at 4 years of age to assess levels of attachment security in the intervention and control groups. She is also particularly interested in maternal sensitivity, attachment security as a resilience factor and maltreatment as a risk factor for disorganization. In addition to this, she develops clinical work with children and their parents as part of an attachment theory informed intervention.
