Joana Dias is a PhD student at the University of Aveiro, with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s in Health Psychology and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation. Since her master’s degree, she developed a keen interest in investigating the potential enhancements in attention associated with action video games. Joana’s research project focuses on the impacts of action videogames on attentional control, emotional perception and emotional regulation. She is also interested in recognizing competitive personality characteristics within this demographic, to raise awareness about the significance of this trait as a pivotal variable in the study of videogame populations.
