Maryna’s research interests encompass the fields of psychophysiology, experimental psychology, and human sexuality, with a particular focus on asexuality and sexual orientation. She earned both her Bachelor’s (2017) and Master’s (2019) degrees from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University in Ukraine, where she developed her undergraduate and postgraduate research projects in the realm of Queer psychology. Currently, Maryna is pursuing her doctoral studies in Human Sexuality at the University of Porto. Her doctoral project is dedicated to investigating the role of sexual stimuli appraisal in the development of asexual identity, employing a combination of experimental and qualitative research methods. Her research is supported by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (Reference number: 2022.11771.BD).
Her doctoral research is being conducted under the supervision of Professor Joana Carvalho.
