I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Azores and a Master’s degree in Human Cognition from the University of Minho. My research experience includes work on physiological responses to frustration in anxiety and depression, subjective memory complaints, and learning strategies in pigeons using a temporal matching-to-sample task. I am currently a PhD student at the WJCR, funded by a PhD grant from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (2026.01241.BD), conducting research at the University of Aveiro. My work investigates numerical cognition across species, focusing on the Approximate Number System, temporal influences on numerosity judgments, and comparative studies with starlings and cuttlefish, with a particular emphasis on the quantitative description of behaviour.
