Patrícia Gonçalves is a Ph.D. student, with a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology
from Ispa-Instituto Universitário. She is a Forensic Psychological Assessment Expert at
the Forensic Office of Clínica Ispa, a Tutor at ISPA, where she teaches “Introdução à
Psicologia Forense e Criminal”, and a Research Assistant at the William James Center for
Research (WJCR). Her research focuses mostly on supporting vulnerable populations,
including victims of sexual violence and neurodivergent individuals. This involves the
development of inclusive judicial practices and community-based interventions, to
promote ethical and compassionate approaches within the justice system, prioritizing the
rights and well-being of vulnerable individuals. Patrícia also takes part in COST Action
CA22128, whose main goal is supporting the implementation of the Méndez Principles
and advocating for the ethical treatment of vulnerable individuals within the justice
system.
