Duarte holds a M.Sc. in Psychology, specialization in Social and Organizational Psychology and a Ph.D. in Business and Economic Sciences, specialization in Management. Duarte’s broad research focus is on family business. He is particularly interested in understanding differences and similarities between family and non family firms regarding classical organizational variables (e.g., job satisfaction, organizational justice, commitment, turnover) and how family participation and involvement influences teamwork effectiveness, decision making and entrepreneurship within family firms. Currently, Duarte serves as the Executive Director of Terinov – Science andTechnology Park, he is also a Lecturer at ISPA – Instituto Unversitário.
