Isabel M. Santos is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Aveiro, and coordinator of the NeuroLab at the same university. Her main current research interests focus on the study of cognitive difficulties experienced by cancer survivors (commonly designated as Cancer-Related Cognitive Impairment – CRCI) and on the development, validation and implementation of a manualized and web-based cognitive rehabilitation program, specifically designed for this population (CanCOG). We are also interested in developing and validating neuropsychological tools that can help assessing and diagnosing CRCI, on the study of biomarkers of CRCI, on the study of the impact of CRCI on work-related variables, and on the study of attentional and cognitive bias in cancer survivors. Additional lines of research at the NeuroLab involve the use of psychophysiological approaches, eye tracking and experimental methodology as tools to explore correlates of cognitive and emotional processes, particularly focusing on how people perceive the different social signals that are transmitted by the human face (social characteristics, identity, emotions, gaze, etc.), and how these processes are impacted by different variables, such as individual differences, clinical conditions, adverse childhood experiences, or chronobiological variables.
