Margarida Ferreira de Almeida

Margarida Ferreira de Almeida is a Psychologist and a PhD Fellow at Ispa – University Institute. Completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 2022, at Ispa – University Institute. Her master’s thesis “Meaning in Life and Posttraumatic Growth in Cancer Patients: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis” obtained the maximum score. She was an editorial assistant of the scientific journal “Psicologia, Saúde & Doenças” (Psychology, Health & Diseases). Member of the Portuguese Order of Psychologist (OPP), the Portuguese Association of Integrated Care in Bereavement – InLuto. Published 3 articles, was co-author of 2 book chapter’s and organized 3 scientific national congresses. Currently her research focus is the process of adjustment to end of life and bereavement, through meaning-making and posttraumatic growth. Her PhD research project “Finding Meaning in Loss: Meaning-Making and Posttraumatic Growth in Adjustment to Grief” is funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, with the reference 2023.00702.BD. Other research interests include psycho-oncology, palliative care, bereavement, meaning in life and spirituality.
