Marta Porto, Clinical Psychologist (License nr 15733), has previously worked as a clinical psychologist, providing psychological support to adults with substance use, personality, mood, anxiety, and eating behaviour disorders. Currently (2024), she is a PhD candidate in Health Psychology and her PhD Project -PURI-PRO (Portuguese Urinary Incontinence Project) – is supported by the FCT – Foundation for Science and Technology (2020.05710.BD). She was also granted funds from TENA to cover the expenses of publishing two scientific papers and RCT vouchers. Her research focuses on women’s health in midlife, particularly on Urinary Incontinence and its impacts on QoL, sexual functioning, productivity; and dysfunctional beliefs and strategies. She has demonstrated interest in other areas such as psychometric validation. She has been engaged in several scientific communications at national and international conferences. She conducted a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) aimed at promoting functional/adaptative UI symptoms self-management (conservative management); and minimizing UI symptoms. Marta has lectured courses in Food Literacy and Introduction to Health Psychology and co-supervised master’s theses. She participated actively in the preparation of national/international proposals. She received a scientific merit award at the 2nd International Conferences in Clinical and Health Psychology
