Following a developmental and transactional approach, Maryse Guedes’ main research line is to adapt for Portugal, evaluate the effectiveness and examine the mechanisms that may explain the effects of an evidence-based intervention program (Parent Turtle Program, Chronis-Tuscano et al., 2015), targeted at parents of socially withdrawn preschoolers. Her current research interests are: social withdrawal during early childhood; parenting behaviors that maintain social withdrawal; and parenting intervention.
