Samuel Pinheiro is a Ph.D. student in Clinical Psychology, with a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from Ispa – Instituto Universitário. He is a Tutor at Ispa, teaching “Métodos de Avaliação I”. He completed his curricular internship in the field of forensic psychology assessment, at the Forensic Office of the Clínica Ispa.
His research focuses mostly on the interactions with the criminal justice system, with a specific focus on investigative interviewing of adult suspects, witnesses and victims. This research aims to contribute to the implementation of evidence-based, humane, investigative interviewing practices in the criminal justice system.
Samuel is Co-Chair of the Student Committee for the International Investigative Interviewing Research Group (iIIRG-S). Additionally, he takes part in COST Action ImpléMendez (CA22128), with the main objective of supporting the implementation of the Méndez Principles, contributing to the end of cruel and inhumane practices in investigative interviewing. Samuel also sits as the Gender Equality Advisor for the ImpléMendez Action and as Co-Lead of its Diversity and Cross-Cultural Network, promoting diversity and inclusion in scientific research and communications.
