Professors Dr. Magda Saraiva (Ispa – Instituto Universitário, Portugal), and Dr. Margarida Garrido (Iscte, Portugal) will give a workshop entitle “Fake News: Aceitação e correção de desinformação em contextos de interação social”
Guest João Mestre (Jornal Público, Portugal), João Fonseca (Agência Lusa, Portugal), Rita Guerra (Iscte, Portugal), Amanda Seruti (FP ULisboa, Portugal), Catarina Santos (ACSS, Portugal), and Tomás Alves (BRU Iscte, Portugal) will integrate the round table “Desinformação em contexto”.
Synopsis:
This workshop aims to disseminate the main results of the project MISCOR to the academic community and the general public, promoting informed citizens about the issue of misinformation and the importance of preventing individual and collective decisions and behaviors shaped by false information.
Based on scientific evidence, the workshop’s ultimate goal is to equip participants with simple and effective strategies to identify, prevent, combat, and correct the spread of fake news. By sharing knowledge about the social and cognitive mechanisms that facilitate the acceptance of misinformation, the event is relevant both to the academic community and to society at large.
