Deadline: 15 January
The William James Center for Research (WJCR) invites expressions of interest from post-doctoral researchers wishing to apply to the 8th Edition of the FCT Scientific Employment Stimulus (CEEC, 2025). We seek motivated and ambitious researchers who aim to develop cutting-edge scientific projects within an internationally oriented and scientifically vibrant research environment.
The WJCR is a leading centre in psychological and behavioural sciences, integrating researchers from Ispa – Instituto Universitário and the University of Aveiro. The Centre offers a collaborative and supportive research environment, access to specialised facilities across two institutions, and active research groups spanning cognitive, social, developmental and health psychology, and neuroscience. WJCR has a strong track record in mentoring competitive FCT projects and in hosting successful CEEC recipients.
We welcome expressions of interest from motivated researchers whose proposed projects align with the Centre’s scientific areas and who seek to develop ambitious research programmes within an internationally oriented environment.
To help us identify and support prospective candidates, and to provide guidance where possible within our current capacities, interested researchers are invited to submit a short 1–2-page Expression of Interest, to be sent directly to wjrc@isp.pt and dep-wjcr-ua@ua.pt, including:
- Profile: who you are, your current affiliation, and the CEEC level at which you intend to apply.
- Project idea: a short, non-technical paragraph describing the main research question and objectives.
- Fit with WJCR/UA: a brief justification of why the William James Center for Research and the University of Aveiro constitute an appropriate host environment.
- Contribution: what your project would add to WJCR and what expertise or complementary research lines you bring.
- Integration: how you envisage engaging with WJCR teams and scientific activities.
- Development stage: the maturity of your proposal and any specific needs we may be able to support.
Researchers welcomed through this initial expression-of-interest process will receive feedback and, whenever possible, support in preparing a strong CEEC application.
Expressions of Interest should be submitted by 15 January.
