Abstract:
The role of the father in family dynamics has undergone numerous transformations over the past few decades. Whereas fathers were previously seen as primarily responsible for providing for the family financially and disciplining children, they are now recognized as a central figure in children’s care and development.
However, gender asymmetry in parenting still persists, with women continuing to assume the primary responsibility for childcare.
This presentation aims to discuss the multiple factors that may influence fathers’ involvement in family responsibilities, drawing on examples from the most recent evidence.
